An introduction to Gut Health Food Therapy and how to support the Spleen/Stomach with herbs and medicinal foods   

This five week Gut Health course is inspired by the principals of Traditional Chinese Medicine, always finding ways to balance the Spleen/Stomach network our inner Yin-Yang. We cover the basics of What is Gut-Health  in TCM and how to eat for the seasons. You will learn how to identify signs of your own body imbalance (IBS, Leaky Gut, Bloating, Painful distention, etc.) and how to restore harmony with healing foods.

  • Week 1: Gain an introduction to the 5 elements theory of Chinese Medicine, common TCM diagnostic techniques, and how to apply self-diagnosis techniques at home to learn about your body type.

  • Week 2: Learn how to identify gut-health imbalance, what are the different types of stool in TCM, and how can identify patterns of heat, cold, wind, or damp patterns in the body. 

  • Week 3: Learn about the TYPE of gut-imbalance and how can you choose the right foods and herbs for you to restore balance. Learn how seasonal routines are important in changing health regimens and the association of the Gut to the Late Summer (Earth) element

  • Week 4Live cooking demo! We share 10 ancient healing recipes from the Sun family's kitchen and introduce every-day ingredients that are commonly used for seasonal healing in Chinese Medicine Kitchens. We talk about traditional fermented foods and when to use fermented foods vs when to avoid.

  • Week 5: Discover the 5 different tastes, how these different foods can affect the gut, which foods to eat when and what tastes to focus on during seasonal changes
